Good cake photography skills will push the boundaries for potential clients seeing your work at its best on your website. You are never just selling a cake, you are selling a celebration of life and correctly captured you can convey not only your skill but a unique and wonderful story.
On this Cake Photography workshop you will learn how artfully capture the story of your cakes. This is a practical hands-on teaching workshop with a minimum of lecture time and maximizing on photography time so that participants get the most out of the workshop. I believe we learn skills so much quicker when we can experience the craft in a learning environment. All my workshops are held in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
No matter your photography skill level, you will leave this workshop with the ability to photograph your cake creations perfectly every time. I will show you how to make your cakes stand out from the crowd using anything from a Smartphone to an SLR. You will learn to create your own table top setup, be provided with photography tips, understanding lighting, styling techniques and some post-production techniques that will help you refine your images.
Informal and relaxed workshops are run from my studio in Shepton Mallet, in the heart of Somerset, England. The workshops run from 10am to 4pm with tea and lunch breaks, all refreshments are provided but you will need to provide your own lunch. I can provide a demonstration cake, however to maximize on your day I do ask that you provide your own cake to work with. This way you will have material you can immediately load onto your site after the workshop. You will also need to bring your own camera/Smartphone and manual.
